Our Story

Toenail care is essential, but for many people—especially as we age—it can become difficult to manage. Unfortunately, it’s often not something carers are able to provide, and for others, seeing a podiatrist can be expensive and come with long wait times. That’s where we come in.

Hi, I’m Amber, and this is the story of Tidy Toenails Ltd.

It all started with my mum, Lyn, a registered nurse with over 50 years of experience in healthcare. In her years working in elderly support services, she noticed a recurring issue: many of her clients had neglected their toenail care. As we get older, simple tasks like cutting toenails become harder to manage. While podiatrist care is important for some, it’s not something everyone needs—and it can often be out of reach due to cost and lengthy wait times.

In 2015, mum decided to fill this gap by offering a more affordable and accessible solution. She started visiting people in their homes, providing professional toenail care for those who didn’t need a podiatrist, but still needed help with this important task. Her clients appreciated the convenience of having someone come to their home, and the service quickly grew.

Since then, mum has lived in various regions across New Zealand, and no matter where she went, the need for this service remained the same.

In 2024, I realised this wasn’t just an issue where mum lived—it was nationwide. That’s when I decided to step in and help grow the business to reach more people across the country. And now our mission is to provide quality toenail care that’s affordable, convenient, and accessible to everyone.

Today, all of our staff are trained by mum and certified in foot, skin, and nail care. We take the time to give each client the attention they deserve, spending more time with them than a typical podiatrist appointment might allow.

We know how difficult it can be to travel to appointments, especially when mobility is an issue. That’s why we bring our service directly to your home, saving you time, money, and stress.
